Triangulum Galaxy

Wide-field view of the Triangulum Galaxy (M33), one of the main spiral galaxies of the Local Group, located in the constellation Triangulum.

The main structure reveals an extended spiral disk, marked by star-forming regions and gas- and dust-rich spiral arms. The brightest areas correspond to numerous H II regions, while the diffuse outer disk and several background galaxies highlight the overall morphology of M33 in its extragalactic context.
