Rho Ophiuchi Cloud

Rho Ophiuchi Cloud

Wide-field view of the Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex, a star-forming region, located between Ophiuchus and Scorpius.

The field includes several dark nebulae from the Lynds catalog, such as LDN 1675, LDN 1680, and LDN 1683, along with faint emission regions including LBN 1101. The surrounding dust is illuminated by nearby bright stars, most notably Antares (α Scorpii), revealing the interstellar environment.
